headers and knock sensor

when i put the headers on and first started the car the paint burnt off and they turned white with ash, there is one tube that after
having run it a dozen times has not yet turned white. is the cylinder not firing or is the injector clogged?
also where is the knock sensor located?

101,

It sounds like you have an ignition, compression, or fuel delivery problem on a cylinder.

The detonation (knock) sensor is located on the right side of the cylinder case, down low along the oil pan mounting rail.
