87 GTA "SES" problem!!

I have replaced the MAF Sensor and relay, burnoff relay, ECM, and finally the expanded connector to the MAF Sensor. Adjusted the TPS and still SES comes on intermittently and car runs funky!! No codes however only 12. Waht is going on? Anybody have this happen? Please help!!!

KD,

The problem is likley NOT with the MAF. The ECM keeps pretty close tabs on the MAF input, and if the input varies from an acceptable level for more than 600mS, the ECM will set a DTC. Not much from the MAf gets past teh ECM.

I would suggest reinitializing the ECM and relearning the fuel tables. Then if the problem recurrs, you should be able to catch the trouble code.

Vader,
I have reinitialized the ECM a dozen times with the same results. At start up the SES light flickers then gradually after heavy and multiple engine revs flickers out and is OK for 5-10 or maybe even 20 miles. Then when you shut it down or come to idle after driving it will come on again or maybe not. But the ecm will not give acode other than 12.
