I'm just wondering if a MAF error causing the SES light to come on would keep me from passing emissions here in Georgia. when I pull the codes I get a 33 and 34 and thats it. just wondering cause I'm about to get the tag for it after a recent purchase and I know on newer cars if the check engine light is on they practicly fail you right there.

Car is an 87 Trans am. 305 TPI automatic

 

Yes, if the MIL is on while the engine is running, you're likely going to fail before they even finish the visual inspection. Search the archives for information on your error code. Having both a 33 and 34 simultaneously is often due to one or both the the MAF relays failing, or other MAF power problem.
