89 octane good, or stick with 93 octane?

Just a quick question...I was wondering what is better to use all the time in my 86 TPI...89 octane or 93? I have been using 93 for as long as i can remember...but the last two times i have filled up, I have used 89(heard it was good for long distance driving)....so which is better and for what? Looking for some opinions and advice...thanks...

Heck, unless you're advancing the timing past stock spec's, you'll do just as good with 87.

I am running the timing at 8* and with the price of gas I have been running 89 octane with out any problems. Now if I were going out to have some fun I would put in the 93 but for every day driving 89 is working for me.

As long as you don't have a high compression engine(12:1)then use it.

Thanks everyone. The only mods i have done is exhaust and i will do a cold air intake, so nothing major. I guess 89 is good enough. Thanks again.
