Some Questions
Okay...I've always wondered what these things are (this is an '86 IROC, for reference)...
First and Foremost, this - found in the front passenger side (near the radiator and battery):

(This doesn't seem to look good - and it doesn't seem to make the car run differently when unplugged)

Found on the front passenger wheel tub (front of it - by coolant tank) - NOT the amp fuse:

All this junk. What is the round connector, and what are those wires that are disconnected (supposed to be?) - Front passenger side, just front and left of wheel tub:

Located on upper passenger side firewall:

Located on drivers side firewall, relays, which is which:

Located in drivers side front, fore of wheel tub:

Near center of firewall (more towards passenger):

Thanks a ton guys.

Re: Some Questions
okay...I can try to help you on some of these, but not all of them....
picture 1 & 2: that should be part of your "engine cooling fan relay." that buildup you see there, is it greasy feeling? if so, its most likely just connection grease. its originally clear, but turns brown over time with dirt and all. this shouldnt be hurting anything, if it bothers you that much, just swob it out with a q-tip.
picture 3: if you are talking about that blue cylinder looking thing (closest one to the coolant tub) then, lol that has NOTHING to do with the way your car runs. its just a fuse for an sound amplifier for a sound system. if you dont have one in your car now, it once HAD one.
picture 4: im not sure on that, but it looks like a mess lol.
picture 5: looks like it has something to do with your ECM, but im not sure
picture 6: this is what they SHOULD be in order by from left to right - Fuel Pump relay (which is the one that looks slightly bigger), the MAF sensor burn-off relay, then the MAF sensor power relay. (the MAF ones should be the same relays in the store anyway, its the fuel pump one thats different i think. someone correct me if im wrong) this is how my car was set up anyway.
Picture 7: I'm not positive, but I think that device has something to do with cruise control or lights. if you have cruise control and it works, try this: unplug the switch and go for a drive and try using cruise control and see if it works still. lol. you can figure it out that way i guess lol. if your car starts to run crummier with it unplugged, its prolly something else lol. it might even be a connector that runs to the compressor or alternator (depending on which side of the car these are one, they can be switched depending on your year model)
picture 8: maybe those are connected to the ECM?? i dont know lol
sorry if i didnt help much...good luck

Re: Some Questions
Oooh. Yeah, that's some good help.
Picture three, I was talking about the connector next to the amp fuse (I knew what that was =P - shoulda been more specific on my part).
Any one got ideas on 4, 5, 8?

Re: Some Questions
I believe #3 is the fuel pump fuse and #5 is the EST disconnect for setting the timing.

Re: Some Questions
- Junction box
- Same as #1
- Fuse Holder
- Fuseable link
- Set Timing Connector (disconnect to set base timing)
