K&N Air Filter for TPI

Does K&N make a nice cone filter that will fit right over the throttle body of a TPI?
If so could you give me the part number. I tried searching some web sites that sell K&N but they only have search engines for year and model.

Re: K&N Air Filter for TPI

I think the number is something like RC5000 or so. I've bought a few from summit and jegs.

What effect would bypassing the MAF sensor and installing The K & N filter directly on to the throttle body have.....?

I assumed he had speed density. Otherwise it won't work.

Re: K&N Air Filter for TPI

If your car has MAF then you can't bypass it. One of your options if you have MAF is to swap the ECM which is a 1227765 to a 1227730 ECM and the Eprom to a AUJP that controls Speed Density and MAP. You might have to get a Moates adapter and reprogram your ECM to over-ride the Vats and then change your VE's and repinning your computer is only benificial if you are doing major engine mods like I have because your MAF ecm won't handle them. Other than that. Keep your ECM and MAF and just get the 2 K&N filters for your air ducts.
