Speed Density and Modifications........
I've got a 1990 LB9 auto and I'd like to evetually replace the exhaust sytem and put in a mild cam.I'd like to put in shorty headers and a high flow cat as well.I've heard that the SD system isn't that easy to mod without changing the chip(E prom?).
1.will these mods require a new chip?
2.What kind of cam should I put in(remember mild not wild)

The exhaust you should be able to run with no problems. Even a mild cam might run pretty close to OK with the stock chip if you play with timing and FP. Hell, just a couple years agao i would have told you that you could make practically anything run OK with the stock ship, cuz a few years agao that was true, but...
There is no point to that today, for the low cost and ease of access to the hardware and software and knowledge to burn your own chips, you might as well get into it. Even if you don't fully immerse yourself into everything and jst to basic tweaks to get your combo together you will end up worlds ahead.
As for what cam to run, personally i'm stuck between the ZZ4 due to it's low cost (esp with how many used ones are rolling around out there.) or the comp XR w/ 212/218 @0.050 on 112LSA. The second one would be my easy first choice, but i can't decide if it is worth sinking real money into a cam for an engine that my goal is to blow up ASAP, making picking a ZZ4 up for peanuts very attractive.
