Mini Ram Intake???
Well I just purchased a mini ram from a friend of mine and I was wondering why TPIS didn't enlongate the middle intake holes to work on both kind of heads (pre 86 and 87-up). I have the Big Mouth Base, and it has provision's for both head setups, why doesn't the miniram have this? What head setup is the miniram for? I have a worked set of L98 aluminum heads I plan to use with it.
TIA
TIA
I dont know why they dont drill for both heads but they are for L98 heads. It is not that hard to re-drill them just use your big mouth holes as a template.

Dave, you may have gotten a hold of the Mini Ram 1. I dont think it had provisions for both types of heads.
I have a Mini Ram 2. I bought it new from TPIS and it is setup for both styles.
You will probably have to elongate the holes on your own. I know others have done it in the past so it isnt THAT big of a deal.
Good luck with it.

I have the Mini Ram II also, and it wasn't drilled for both style heads. I called TPIS, and they said some were and some weren't.
I redrilled the holes myself. It isn't the easiest thing to do. Just be patient. A drill that cost more than $15 might have made it easier on me.
If you have the Corvette aluminum L98 heads, then the intake will fit without redrilling the holes. If you have the F-body heads, then you will need to redrill it.
Good luck.
