setting timing on L98

in my 89 iroc i cannot see the timing marks at all. the accessories block them from sight. how the hell do you see the timing marks so you can set your timing? im guessing that you might have to take some stuff off.

You should be able to see them clearly. Are you unable to see them in the light of day or is the timing light not picking them up? I can't see mine without pointing the light at them.

Clean off the balancer first.

Do as 89GTA suggests and put a little white paint in the mark itself. It makes it really easy to see, even on a bright day with a weak timing light.

There should be a "tab" on the block near the balancer that has "degree marks" on it that line up with the line on the balancer.

And remember to disconnect the "tan wire" for the ESC. If you don't, the mark will be WAY OFF when you check it.
