May have FINALLY figured out my Code 43!!
May have FINALLY figured out my Code 43!!
WOO HOO!!!!!!!!! I ordered a replacement knock sensor and tested it out (still not fully installed, but hooked up and crounded to block). I pulled the battery cable to reset the codes and NO CODES!!! WOO HOO!!!!
Now I can't wait till tomorrow to install it for good! (stupid lack of daylight) I can't WAIT to see if there's a performance and/or milage increase. I'm hoping at least that it won't run as hot as it does and eliminates the occasional backfire I get. Those are all symptoms of bad timing and I'm hoping that the new knock sensor puts the timing back where it belongs. Thanks for all your help!!!!
Matt (was getting sick of seeing that damn light all the time)

Results are WAY favorable! I can't tell yet on the gas milage, but the power is DEFINITELY back! I can chirp the tires in second gear spinning 35" BFG MT's and 3.07 gears. On the highway, 4th gear felt fine, not like the diesel feeling I had before.
It will be a little while before I can test the fuel economy, because last night I went wheeling with the Jeep and partly due to the extra horsepower, and partly due to a broken tranny mount, I busted my rear driveshaft.
Amazing what a difference a little ignition timing makes!
