Overtheating probs
Overtheating probs
Yeah I know you all probably heard enough of these before.
Here is whats happeneing. I'll drive around for a while and the primary fan will work fine then all of a sudden temp will start to rise higher and higher. I pull over and lift the hood and now neither fan is on. So i turn on the heater then all of a sudden the secondary fan comes on and so does my A/C compressor? I move it one to the left and my A/C compressor turns off and the secondary will stay on and i'll be running next to 240 but primary won't be running. Ok now i'll start driving with the heat on and the temp will go down to 220 and i turn off the heater and pull over and my primary is all of a sudden working and no secondary. When I get home I jump out the pins to run codes and the primary comes on like its supposed to.
I just don't wanna be using the heater in this weather just to get my fans to work because i have to leave it on a while and my old GTA would always stay really cool.
Sorry this is so long but I replaced the fan switch already and that didn't do me any good so i'm lost for now. Next I figured the CTS but i'm no good at this so let me know.
Any help would be great, thanks.
Oh yeah this is an 88 GTA with 5.7

one thing you should do is wire your secondary fan into your primary to get them to go on aat the same time two check the fan relays behind the passenger side headlights it sounds like when heat buildups under the hood it's causing your relay to malfunction

I had the same problem. It was my relays. One fan would work, and then they both would, ect. I also wired both of them to come on at the same time. I also put on a new cooling spoiler.

How do you wire the fans to come on at the same time?
