91 Z28 Cam, Head, Computer Combo Questions?

I have a 91 Z28. I am looking to run a new set of heads, cam and a custom burned computer. What is the best combo. I am wanting major horsepower and great sound. Thanks for your help.

need more info on what mods you already have, if you need to pass inspection, what kind of driving (daily or race)....but I had friends that had good results with high lift cam/low duration on there blue ovals speed density. I've heard and red that AFR heads are the ticket for great HP...I think a rule of thumbs for cams in a daily driver aplication would be the highest lift you can get by and a small duration (some like the ZZ4 cam with 1.6 rockers...208 dur and 530 lift (?) ) And if you are going to run LTR, shoot for a power band between 1500 and 5000 rpm, for the LTR are not ment to rev much above 5k (unless highly modified). Matching your items will give you a much better result than just geting a high rev cam hooked to low rev intake (TPI) on a set of cavernous heads...

Doogie,

I'm looking at doing a buildup as well, and this board seems to agree that the AFR 190's are the best head (but they cost $1250), followed by the Trick Flow 23* heads ($829 at Summit).

trick flow 23 degree heads accel 211,219 camshaft, edelbrock base(cheaper than accel)super ram plenum with fully siamesed accel runners heads may have to be milled to keep your compression up!that'll give you a large plenum short runner design intake(6 3/4 in. or so,but not nearly as short as the lt1's 3in. runners)to match the flow of the heads and the "rpm operating range of the cam"
