You dont say whether you have TPI or TBI. I think the cam selection will be different depending on the induction system.

I have the same engine and am swapping my cam in 2 weeks - go with the crane compucam 2032 - this is basically the best cam you can use on a tpi 305 /w stock heads - also i've heard it works nicley with the spd density copmuters we have - crane says its too much for a 305 but from what i've researched and learned from asking around over the past year it's basically the best one...

Believe it or not, I didnt honestly know that the post-1986 Z28's were all tuned port! I always figured that since there were many, many LG4 powered Z28's that it would be followed by throttle body Z28's !

Okay guys, I've got to step in and make some corrections. I'm not going into all the specifics here, but here are the basics. I'm referring to Z28/IROC-Z's only:
The 305 TPI became the no-cost base engine in the 1990 IROC-Z. It was optional in years previous. The 305 TBI was the base engine in 1988 and 1989. The 305 carbureted engine was standard on the 1985 - 1987 Z28 (with and without the IROC-Z option).
