Hi I have a 85 tpi transam and I just dropped a 87 camaro 350 crate motor in her and I heard Ill need a different calibrated Prom chip is this true. And if so whats a good place I can get a high quality high performance chip from. I got the need for speed and its slowin my 350's performance. I fully appreciate any help.

Since you have a 85, you may be able to use the prom from a 85 vett. Is the cam stock? If it is a crate motor with higher hp than stock you may have to tune your prom. Also the knock sensor is off because you have a 305 prom. In 85 the knock sensor was the same for 305 camaro and 350 vette. The ECM was the same but the prom was diff. Hope this helps some.

 

hey thanks for the advice. Yeah the cams stock only thing Ive really done to her aftermarket is the cold air intake.So your saying all i need to do is find a 85 corvette with a 350 and pull the prom chip and im good it will fit. Im still learning about my car and like to learn new things about her so with the knock sensor being off as you say does this affect her idle, power, and or am I messing the new motor up by driving her till I change the prom chip ecm and the fuel injectors. I just blew up the 305 I had in her and I dont wanna blow my first 350. Any advice
