Broken Tranny Mount, Again
Broken Tranny Mount, Again
What's the best tranny mount to get. I've broken two new stock ones on my car already. It's on a 87 Trans Am 350 TPi with a 5-spd. Anyone know what brand and where to get it? I need one stronger than stock. Thanks

Get you a poly mount from Energy Suspension or someone else who makes that type. You can get the E/S one from Summit or Jegs, I think...

Not to flame you dude, but I doubt that mount is available at Pep Boys. Maybe Poly-graphite or something to that effect, but not urethane. Special order theough a speed-depot like Summit only. These 'parts gurus' are not exactly rocket scientists. If they told you it was polyurethane, someone lied.
Get a polyurethane mount, they're built so the structure takes the twisting forces, unlike rubber mounts. The poly does nothing but act like a cushiion. I also went though 3, finally got a poly mount. Never regretted it. Best $25 I ever spent, almost
