It will work look at my sig. But the LT cam is not that much bigger than the stock L98 cam. I had the peanut cam and it helped alot. I dont think it's worth the time in a L98. Just my .02

That was the first engine mod I did back when I got my 'bird. The lift is a bit more agressive than the L98 cam, but if you're going to do the swap, I'd suggest getting a good aftermarket cam. I only gained 2 tenths from the swap.

Also check the dowel pin on the front of the cam. The later ones have a longer down pin that will interfere with the timing cover. You need to shorten it to the length of your stock cam. That long pin is there to drive the water pump on the LT1.

i know its not radical, and that the best part, cause the engine is about to die anyway, and i dont want to send it to an early grave. the reason is is that its free......would i have to change the lifters, rockers, valves or valve springs wiht this?

No you dont have to change a single thing but to see a gain I'd go with the 1.6 RR arms.

If you use 1.6 rockers you should change the springs.

I went with the ZZ3 springs, around $35 bucks. You will probably need new retainers also.
