Intake?

Okay, I just ordered my TES Headers/Catback and plan to make another upgrade on my car. I will get an AFPR but for a major mod what should I get? I was thinking of an intake, if even that would be a good upgrade for my setup now. Maybe a cam? I can't get anything like heads because all I have is around $500 to spend. Please let me know, I want to get 13's when I goto US41 in the middle of July, my friends 97 Cobra is running 14.1 and I'm so close I need to whoop his $20k cars *** . Any input would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks.

BTW, I have the G92 package so my cam isn't the peanut cam, it's pretty decent, and if I should get a cam, I need to pull harder in the upper rpms, 1st gear's torque is amazingly strong in my car.

I don't think you would see much of a benefit from an aftermarket manifold right now, but I'm sure you would see some. People have had varying degrees of success with relatively stock mills. OK, I just looked at the rest of your mods so maybe an aftermarket runner/base combo would work nicelyand compliment the ported plenum. I think SLP still has a special on their runners for $199. A new base is outrageously overpriced (approx $500) so try to find one on ebay or the classifieds on this page. I got my Edelbrock base/Accell runner combo for $400.
Then again maybe look into a set of 1.6 rockers. They should give you a decent amount of extra lift without the cam change.
Good luck.
