I noticed your RamJet setup on your formula. Does that fit under the Stock Hood???
I like my stock hood and wonder if there are any clearance problems to be considered.

Thats actually my Ram Jet Formula. Joseph just posted the pictures up for me. Well, thats the big mistery about the hood clearance on a stock hood. We know it will clear a stock Camaro hood, but not too sure about a Firebird hood. I have a Ram Air hood on my Formula and it clears with no problems at all. I think it will be very close on a stock powerbulge formula hood.

hmm, ok, it does look like it will be close, Actually, Joe, How difficlut would it be to measure from the base of the intake to the top of the throttlebody in the front, the Stock TPi is almost exactly 8"

Ill do that. I measured it one time and it was almost exactly the same. It wasnt a very accurate measurement though. Ill measure the ram jet and the TPI tonight after I get off work and try to get an accurate measurement.

OK, I did some measuring last night. The ram jet intake and the TPI are close. However, the TPI slopes down toward the front for added clearance. The ram jet does not. The two intakes were exactly the same at the rear of the intake, but at the front up by the TB, the ram jet was 1 inch taller. So, I took a socket (about 1inch tall) and set it on top of my TPI car to see if it would clear the power bulge hood or not. Well, the hood shut. But remember, the Ram Jet manifold is like 3 inches wide at the top as opposed to the socket I used which was like 9/16 or whatever.
My opinion: I think this thing will work with a power bulge hood. I think it might come down to removing/cutting some of the crossbracing under the hood right above the TB.

Sounds close, I currently have a Hotchkis strut brase that is about one inch higher as well, it actually rubs on the hood liner, but does not make contact with the hood itself. I bet there is enough clearance (Barely) the cold air tubes from the MAF might have to be forced downward, but I bet it would work...
