TPI needs a new Prom!

Hi, I`ve got the 305 boat anchor i decided to freshen up. I droped on a set of sweet ported and polished heads 194,150. a nice lumpy stick, some headers, ported the intake manifold, and so on. well now i need a chip cause she runs like crap, she`s got a red line of 3000 rpms and shes running real real lean causeing over heating and 0 power, I cant spend a fortune so if anyone knows where i can get one burnt, ASAP- Thanks

TOT

PS I went to www.mustgofaster.net first and that was 4 months ago there prices are really great but there are screwing me around!!!

get and adjustable fuel pressure regulator and turn it up to about 52-55psi. then move your timing from TDC to 10 degrees BTDC and listen for pinging and see what setting it works on best. it should still run over half way decent with the stock chip

it also sounds like you are starving for fuel. have you checked your fuel pressure? have you watched it while you were actually on a WOT run? i bet your not getting enough fuel either from a clogged filter or a failing fuel pump.

Sounds like its time to burn your own. check out the diy-prom site here; it ain't that hard, less $$$ than a custom for the hardware and software thats required and much more satisfying!!!! Also you can change your prom as many times as you want in a day-and not have to wait a week or more for every change if you buy one.

What year is the car? MAF or MAP?
what are the specs on the cam? If it is too lumpy you will probably need the chip with a MAP system.
I just got a chip from fastchip.com for $350.
I ordered it on a monday and it was on my front door step on Tuesday. Only had it a week but the motor rums really smooth now. Exhaust smells really clean too. Try timing and fuel pressure first.
