speed density and cams
l know very well that SD systems and cams don't mix very well at all, but it has to be possible someway, lve heard a lot about lots of fuel to compensate for any changes and custom chips, and tuning, its all very vague information and not very descriptive, anyone have any details they could let me know on swapping cams, head work, valve work, any info ou guys have would help me a lot. thanks

Take a trip to the DIY PROM board and learn how to burn your own eprom.
There are a lot of things that need to be changed for a larger cam...the VE tables for sure (not a big deal, just time consuming) but more importantly your IAC and various other settings while at idle due to the lower Manifold Vacuum (higher MAP values).
Idle is the big problem for both MAP and SD systems but for different reasons. Part throttle and WOT are easily fixed but idle requires a lot of "fiddling" and seldom fixed by just adding one or two settings. Lots of fiddling (and sometimes compromises) regardless of system to get a good idle.

I think it really depends on how big of a cam you go with. I just converted to a SD system and it idles fine with basically stock ANHT code and a Lingenfelter .219 cam. It just wants fuel, fuel, and more fuel!

Mojo, try burning your own eprom (if you aren't already). You will find a custom prom burnt by yourself far better than the ANHT prom.
But you are right about the size of cam (mostly duration) is the biggest factor in what you have to do to get it to idle right. The ZZ3 works without a problem, but when you start getting into something like the LT-4 Hot Cam, then you are on the "edge" of needing something more "custom".
