best cam for SC 350 TPI?
OK guys, here's the plan:
Due to funds, here is the setup I intend to use in my '86 IROC: Ported and polished Vortec heads, SLP 1 3/4" headers, Borla catback, 52mm TB, Vortec base (ported if it ever comes out!), SLP runners (ported), 24# LT1 injectors(blueprinted)TRW forged d-cup pistons (std.), T-56, 3.73 w/torsen rear, prom work. As soon as funds allow, the TPI and Vortec heads will find their way onto another N/A motor, and AFR's and a SR will replace it. If I don't get the Vortec base, I'll use ported 'Vette heads and an Edelbrock base.
Anyway, I have tons of cams to choose from and no idea which to pick. My compression ratio will be about 8.8:1 with the 64cc Vortec's (cc'd at 61). Which cam should I choose, anybody have any idea? Can't pick one, the only engine building part I always get stuck on. I want a cam with a decent but noticeable idle, good low-end torque, and which pulls to around 5500. Give or take a few RPM. It would have been easy but the SC is the reason I can't decide, Comp Cam's just lists cams to me. (
) I wanted a cam that would work decently by itself, and better with a SC, but as long as it pulls hard, I'm happy. Any suggestions?

as long as your doing prom work look into a long duration cam around 218-220 ground on a 108 centerline might not pull past 5500 but will really pull between 2000-4800 or so.which combined with the superram would make a tourqe monster depending on what heads you choose

if your going forced induction, the stock cam is a pretty good cam for a blower. the twin turbo callaway corvette L98s came with the stock vette tpi camshaft. (dont know if its different from the f-body L98 cam) you dont need the lumpy cams for a blower. forced induction gets alot of air in the cylinder fast, no need to keep the valves open forever.
