siameese intake

will a siameese intake base require any ECM calibration? I was thinking about opening up my stock base but I just had a chip made and I would like to avoid changing it again That stock manifold has to go some way or another.

no you wouldnt have to mess with your computer. i know what you mean about the base, im getting tired of runing out of power at 4800rpm when everyone else is making usefull power all the way up to 6-6.5 grand.

I hear that with some grinding the stock base is almost as good as the TPIS big mouth manifold so I think that Im going to tear into mine next week.
The way these heads and cam are it looks like my only chance for power will be at the top.

Do people really siamese the intake base? Seems counter-intuitive.?????

I dunno about 'people', but I did... and picked up 20hp/15tq with zero tuning and only the base modification, no others. Read about it here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/001492.html
The next slew of mods are still in progress, and I am still trying to decide on a diagnostic program so I can tune it properly.

I am gonna say it will run and you will pick up a little power without changing the chip, but ideally you want a different chip. You should look into programming your own, its not that difficult to do, and the results are much better than any chip ordered over the phone.
