Best heads & cam package?

What are the best heads and cam package for a 85 305tpi Trans am? I'm wanting the most horsepower i can get.Plan on porting plenum, intake manifold, and runners. Also have plans for a thermomaster chip.

I'm one of the few on here that like the 305.

I will always run the stock 416 heads on my 305, and the LPE hydraulic roller cam listed below.

I say port your heads and set them up with screw-in studs & guideplates so you can run higher ratio rockers.
If you have a lot of money, get them extrude honed as far as possible. The 305 heads are almost foolproof. You are unlikely to do any mods to them that hurt power.

What reasons do you have to like the 305? Maybe you like to be the underdog? I mean, even parts cost the same or more than a 350 or bigger. Maybe you can enlighten me.

maybe its just me but i really like the sound of a 305 much more than a 350... I guess thats a silly reason though

------------------
91 z28 lb9 5 speed - hooker 1 5/8 headers - high flow cat- full 3 inch exhaust - home made ram air - tpis airfoil - dual chamber flowmaster - Stage 2 Jet Chip and 160 stat - 8 mm Msd plug wires - 55,000 v hypertech coil/rotor/distrib. cap - Mac. White face gauges - lots of sound system crap...
