another knock sensor question

what is the difference between a 89 knock sensor and a 91-92 knock sensor?i've read somewhere(don't remember where)that the 91-92's aren't as sensitive as the previouse years.can any one tell me if this is true or not?the last time i was at the auto parts store i asked the counter guy to check to see if their are two different part #'s and there were.

I had the same question. I just bought a 90-92 KS when i did the SD upgrade. I could have left the 87 KS in there, i actually put the MAF system back in while i was still in the rough stages of tuning and it ran just fine. But like you said, there has to be a difference, i don't know what it is though.
I have an 87 350 KS if anybody needs one for cheap.

Call a GM dealer and ask the parts guy to look both of them up. I didn't think there was a difference between the 2.
