When i come to a stop my car idles at 1500 rpm , but if i tap the gas real fast the idle will drop to 750 like normal. Anyone have any ideas as to why my car does this. If i don't tap the gas it will continue to idle like this. Thanks.

 

I have the exact same problem. It's the throttle blades/shafts binding somewhere in
the throttle body. I'd check the throttle, cruise cable and free mouvement of the thottle body. Even i've checked all these, removed my throttle body several times, it still does the same thing. I was told by someone on this board that the only way out might be to change the throttle body.

This all sounds like a mechanical problem and not an electronic one, or even a vacuum leak. By tapping the gas you are giving the throttle more momentum to return to fully closed position, this could indicate binding like he said or even a weak return spring on the throttle body.
Don't forget to also check the TPS, the linkage arm could be binding.

 

well, i have checked about everything, and it doesn't seem to be mechanical. I am wondering if it in the prom, cuz i notice it now that i have changed trannies........
