Siamesed Intake Questions w/in
Next week i was planning on siameseing the intake. I was wondering how far i should take it into the base if i wish to pull upto 6000. Is this a good idea for me? Lowend isn't much of a concern because my torque converter just flashes upto 1500 as it is so i doubt the loss of low end torque with siameseing would make a different... I just want to be able to pull to where my tranny shifts (and no it doesn't exactly shift at 6000 but maybe around 5500 or somewhere close). Any help is appreciated.

Here is the thread Madmax started about the siamesing of the intake.
https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/001492.html
What I remember about it is that Madmax siamesed about 5 - 5.5 inches from the runner side to the heads, on a stock manifold. Madmax did dynos but had problems so it was kinda inconclusive but his g-tech runs with a regular intake and a siamese intake showed a .4 to .5 second decrease in times.
But the other guy, Mike, did siamesing on a edelbrock manifold and only did 2.5". Mike found no real gains on his.
Mike did some great scientific data but since he only siamese 2.5" down it remains to be seen if siamesing 5 to 5.5" would yeild any better results.
I think also Mike said that the siamesing of a STOCK intake would yeild better results than a aftermarket intake but all of Mike's test where done on a edelbrock intake.
Read the thread cause I my have not remembered some of the stuff correctly as I stated above, sorry if I did.
Hope it helps!
