Could faulty injectors damage the ECM?

My #1 cylinder injector on my L98 is testing at 1.7ohm last I checked it. Could the low impedence ruin my ECM or other electrical components? I have another testing about 20ohm, one at 12ohm, and the other 5 are 17.5ohm.

i think we forget that our systems work on a "batch fire system". If each of the injectors were on a seperate circut, then I wouldn't get too excited. Consider that electricity likes to take the path of least resistance would indicate to me that you might be experiencing more than a single cylendar power loss.

USUALLY, I say Usually because there are always exceptions. The circuts are protected from things like shorts & ground outs. BUT anything is possible, your car is at least 9 years old now and honestly even electronics wear out.

GM is smart enough to know that strange things happen under the hood and I would expect them to design safty features into their computers.
Think about this, I have some old PC's that I know don't work anymore, because they went bad. All our cars are still running, and for the most part our ECMs are going to go at least another ten years without a glitch.

Honestly though, If it was my car AND I wre you, I would change it, for peace of mind. The simple fact that you bothered to ask the question & it is a concern of yours, indicates to me that it is a concern. Despite what I think and what others say, wheter it is yes or no, right or wrong, I'd do it anyway.
