taking off the intake manifold and heads
i can get the heads with no prob i think but what do i need to watch out for when taking off the intake manifold?
i'm going to port the intake manifold and gasketmatch/mildly port the heads.
what do i need to watch out for with the distributor? is there a tech article that explains this in detail?
thanks for all the help

start by unboltiing the runners top and bottom if you have the tb bypass the plenum will slide off(disconnect the throttle/downshift/cruise cables and vaccum to the fpr)if not disconnect that as well(coolant will spill)loosen the fuel rail bolts 10mm socket pop the rails out of the bores enough to slide out the runners from underneath them to save you the hassle of depressurizing the fuel system leave the lines connected to the rails lay a towel on the drivers sidesttrutt tower and flip it over and upsiide down aand laay it there with that removed disconnect your sensors from the intake loosen the intake bolts t35 torx bit take off the distributor cap mark the rotor posistion loosen the hold down bolt ttwist and pull out the distributor the intake miight need some coaxing gently lift it up with a small flat tip you will have to take the manifolds or headers off to get to the head bolts watch the ground wires on the back of the drivers side head as well as the air injection tube on the pass side dont yank anything look carefully and you will see everything.....good luck!!!!
