Removing Alternator Pivot Bolt From TPI Bracket
All that stands between me removing the old alternator and installing a new 140 amp alt is the blasted pivot bolt. I'm fairly sure it's seized(hmmm, let's use a stainless bolt to attach the alt to a cast-aluminum bracket), but it could've been cross-threaded by a previous owner who thought the alt had to be loosened to remove the belt - then over-torqued it when retightening.
At any rate, I've tried heat(twice), penetrating oil(four times) and pure brute strength(useless when the bolt needs a Torx driver, i.e., applying torque on Torx fastener = rounded hole).
Hopefully someone here has run into this problem, and can tell me what silly step I have overlooked. If not, I'll be removing the rad on the weekend to give me enough room to drill the bolt for an Easy-Out.
and on a kind of related subject,... does any one know of a replacement stainless steel bracket that can be substituted for the POS cast-aluminum one used on TPI motors.
Thanx

Only recommendation I have is to get out the ol' dremel and cut it off. From your descript of what you've tried, that's about the only choice left, but, I'm not a machinist, either... Good luck with it, but I'd go ahead and cut it...

Have you tried PB Blaster? It's an incredible penetrating oil. If that doesn't do the trick, then you'll likely have to buzz the end of the bolt and try to easy-out it. You may unfortunately end up having to drill it out and heli-coil the hole
