Which AFR heads should I get??

I need a head recommendation for my setup. Mods are in sig. I plan on adding a SuperRam with the Edelbrock base at the same time as the heads. I really want AFR heads. Probably the 190cc heads. But, within the 190cc heads, there are so many different variations. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. If you have part numbers, that would be great too. Thanks in advance.

It depends on what you want, and the engine you have. The SBC Street Heads come with either straight, angled, or L98 angled plugs, depending on which block you have. Other than that, you need to determine whether or not you want or need SMOG legality. I think the specs are the same, other than the 68 or 70cc combustion chamber sizes.

The plug angle doesn't matter for your block. It matters for your exhaust.

The chamber size matters for the compression ratio you are looking for. You'll need your piston specs to calculate.

Me, I ordered 190cc heads with the 74cc chamber (AFR said the 74cc chamber design is slightly more efficent than the 68cc chamber) milled to 68cc. The plugs are on the L98 angle.

For a street motor you'll want to get the temperature sender holes drilled and tapped for sure, and if you want to run EGR and/or a carb preheat (or to be emissions legal!) you'll need to order the heat riser version.

The 190 head is supposed to match up pretty well with the super ram base. I'll let you know when my heads arrive

Get the TFS 23* and get them ported, then they will flow better than the AFR's and will come out cheaper.
