help with gears

if you look at my sig what do you guys reccomend for gearing i was looking at 3.70's but that might be to low and spin it past it's peak in 4th gear i know the tranny sn't gonna hold for long so if it's gonna break i wanna break it in three pieces(front shaft,rear shaft,and everything between......

87 trans am 350,L98 aluminum heads,LT4 hot cam,slp runners,slp 1 5/8 headers,3in.y-pipe,edelbrock base,hi flo cat,air foil,afpr,as&m ported plenum,t-5 tranny w/centerforce clutch and a 3.27 9bolt(11.9in. brakes),ed wright's fastchip,relocated iat sensor,tb bypass,accel supercoil,hollowed maf,slp 3in. catback,a/c delete(whole lotta room in there now)

14.10@97mph w/2.01 60'

slp catback is finally on!!!
fastchip prom is in.OH!MAN!

3.70's are cheaper and a 9 bolt is better although they make a 3.70 and 3.73 for the 9 bolt if i was to choose blindly i'd go wiith 3.70's

I went from the original 3.42's to 3.73's...

And i've felt like an idiot ever since.

Thats why it also bugs me that TPI doesn't rev

instead of changing gears, im almost considering going to a carb just to make up for the gearing.

why not get the extra rpm's from the tpi?i am gonna stiick to 9 bolt gears (3.27,3.45,3.70,3.73)thanx for all your input

I think you are backwards. Gears for the 9 bolt are meg bucks. 10 bolts you can get for next to nothing.

a whole set of gears att my cost was 265 not includng install kit for the 9 bolt and the 10 bolt was barely cheaper i mean penniies when it comes to the strength of the two

(see my rant - I mean post - on the other topic about gears)

Overall, the BW 9-bolt = slightly stronger but, waaayyy more $$$$$$ (try finding shims for it.... $$$bearings$$$ $$$carrier$$$).
