MSD M6al
I have purchased a M6al ignition box and have installed it. My question is anyone else using one of these, does anyone have pro, cons that I should know about.

Re: MSD M6al
I ran into a strange problem when I swapped to TPI on my car (originally TBI) with it causing what I will call a "Phantom Code 42". My car has had MSD for almost it's entire life so I expected no trouble plus I had seen many, many TPI cars with it already. The way it was explained to me was that the MSD would trick the ECM into thinking that the ignition module in the distributor was failing and setting a code 42 but there was never any problem. I even replaced the module just to rule it out. The car still ran perfectly and after some time the light would go back out (sometimes) while still driving. I suppose that over time my ECM "learned/accepted/ignores" the condition as I've not had another code 42 pop up in well over a year. I've talked about this with some other TPI car owners that had this situation occur and they either removed the MSD or learned to live with the light coming on at times. Mine is doing fine so I left it on. Other than that it's worked great. Get the adapter harness for easy plug and play installation.

Re: MSD M6al
I agree on the adapter harness thing. Makes putting it in much easier. I had the MSD 6 installed on my car. Never set any codes. I found that the car started easier, seemed to idle smoother, and rev a little more freely. Did not seem to have any more power, but, I don't expect ignition upgrades to do so. (unless you have a really marginal system to begin with.....) Getting a better coil to compliment that MSD box would not be a bad idea though.

Re: MSD M6al
I did also install the adapter harness and the MSD coil to go along with the controls.
