thermostat and fan switch

what temp thermostat and fan switch works best. i have a 160 them. and the switch that on at 176 and of at 166. is this ok. thanks for all the help im new at this computerized car stuff

There are people running that exact same setup here and are happy with it and there are some that have it and they dont like it because it is too cold in the winter time or during cold mornings. If you just plan on driving it during really hot days that would be just a fine setup. When I have the time I am going to follow the tech article on this page that sounds like it will work the best for all around driving.

It all depends on the weather where you live. In a hotter climate, further south, that's probably a good setup. I live in Ontario Canada and our summer days range from 10 degrees C to 33 degrees C. This morning's low was 13C and two days ago it was 22C. With varying temperatures like this, the ideal setup is a 180* stat and a 195* fan switch. Anything less and you'll be running way too rich on those cooler morning and killing what little fuel economy we already have!
