Transmission: MD8 (700 R4) + 3.42 LS1 Rear
At Idle (for a stock engine) the voltage should be .54VDC and for WOT is Should Be Over 4.0VDC
The acceptable range (factory specification) is from 0.48 - 0.60 VDC. The presumed "ideal" setting would be the middle of this range, or 0.54VDC. Unless you are using a freshly calibrated Fluke or Beckmann DMM (or an oscilloscope) to check the voltage, the variation is probably far less than the error factor of the instrument you are using.
.52 is just fine.
