305 tpi v. 350 tpi

I'm sure this has been answered before, but I didn't see it in the stickies. Will a 350 tpi hook up to a wiring harness from a 305 tpi and run, provided you pull the chip out of the ecm and swap in a 350 one?

yes, pretty sure the only difference is the 350 setup has 22lb injectors and the 305 has 19lb

Re: 305 tpi v. 350 tpi

really? but if you have a 305 and change it to 22# injectors you dont have to change the ecm. usually just the regulator. how does changing it to a 350 make you have to change it?

Re: 305 tpi v. 350 tpi

hmmm....I thought the regulators were the same. And maybe the MAF setup could adjust to the injectors, but I wouldn't think a SD setup could.....

I'm just learning myself, so if anyone could shed some light on this, please do.

Re: 305 tpi v. 350 tpi

well thats exactly it.. the MAF (manifold air flow) would probably work because the ecm would adjust a-f-r and retard or advance timing. but the MAP(manifold absolute pressure) sensor just reads absolute pressure so thats why im thinking it would work.. theres not that big of a change in injectors so im thinking it would be fine.. but he should find someone who already did it.

The knock sensor is different on a 350 as well. I think the ESC was different as well on the older TPI's. Not much changed though.
