plenum need boring when using a 58mm TB

Just curious if the plenum holes need to be enlarged to bolt a 58mm throttle body in place of a stock unit.

I dont think its absolutely necessary but it would be pointless (and likely detrimental) otherwise.

I'm just asking cause my throttle body bushing are really bad and got a good deal on this 58mm. So wanted to know if it is a direct bolt on.

Yes, the plenum air-inlet holes will need to be enlarged to match the size of the throttle bores in the 58mm t/b, maybe to clear the throttle blades as the lower half of the blade swings through the plenum opening. I had to enlarge them to fit a 52mm t/b. Otherwise, the 58mm would 'bolt-on' to a non-modified plenum.
