One last Engine/chip question

Ok, if anyone has seen my previous posts over the past month or two I have an '86 305 TPI swapping in a '91 L98, No questions left about that. Everyone told me to get an '89 chip for it.

HERES THE QUESTION .....I have the Jet-Chip 6 pack for an '89 L98, when I go to put this in is it gonna plug rite in to my '86 computer or is there shizit people forgot to tell me.
Im one of those people who always gets the sh**y end of the stick so I figured I'd ask even if it is a dumb question....please bring me good news.

Brian

Speaking of the sh*ty end of the stick

I went to the shop today, they're putting in my engine. I was speakin to them about my chip and all saying about the diff. years engines and cold start injectors.....91 didnt have one, and my car is MAF, so thats why everyone told me to get an 89 chip to have those things.....my mechanic says to me "then whats this" and points to a 9th injector...WTF it cant be a '91 engine unless the TPI is transplanted. MY NEW QUESTION IS WILL MY 89 CHIP STILL WORK, WILL IT JUST GIVE MORE FUEL TO THE REGULAR INJECTORS ON A COLD START (LIKE THE '91) AND JUST ACT LIKE THE 9TH ISNT EVEN THERE?

It only depends on what ecm/wiring harness you are using, the TPI manifold itself makes no difference at all.

If you have a MAF harness and ecm, 86-89, use the 89 chip and disconnect the wire to the cold start injector if there is one on the car. Done deal.
