How do I know if my fuel pump is wearing out?

I'm just curious to know if there is any way to get a good idea what kind of shape my fuel pump is in and if it is wearing or worn out? Thanks.

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it, tape it to the windshield and go out and hammer on it. Have a buddy monitor fuel pressure. If the pressure drops as the revs go up it can't keep up and you need a new one. If the fuel pressure stays fairly constant at WOT then the fuel pump is fine.

If it starts to idle rough and or start to die, it could be on its way out. If you don't have loud exhaust, listen for different noises.
