Engine: 5.7 350 TPI
Transmission: 700R4 w/ shift kit
Axle/Gears: 9 Bolt BW 3.27
Easy HP for 350 TPI?
Hey guys, Ive been reading this forum for a while now but there is so much info here it is hard to take it all in. Ive got a 1987 Formula 350.
Right now the only things done to the motor is a bigger cam (and exhaust if you want to count that) The motor is putting out right around 250 HP, maybe a little less. Id like to increase that, Im not looking for a million horsepower here but would like to get as much as possible without getting to serious with it (bored/stroked etc)
What are some easy bolt on things I can do to increase the power or anything I can mess with to do so?
I was thinking about looking into a performance chip after the idea was brought up to me, thoughts?

Skip the "performance chip". Investment too much $ for the return. Look into custom chips when you get to the point that you're ready to start upgrading internals and or major external bolt on's.

do your own chip tuning for that car, its easy to do and learn for MAF sensor cars.
How big of a cam did you put in? it may need a tune for it to get the most out of it. 250whp is not bad for a stock tune/stock TPI cammed car depending on the cam size.
The other easy gains would be TPI bolt on parts or a different manifold all together, like superram, miniram or my favorite, the stealth ram by holley. I picked up alot with my 89 TPI 350 by going to the stealth ram
