throtle sticking

throtle sticking

Hi been having throtle sticking probs, oiled gas pedal linkage, cable, cruise cable, have used throtle body cleaner tell all deposits were gone and sprayed throtle body springs still sticks.....?????
any ideas, Smog.

I have the same problem and i've narrowed it down the some play in the trottle body butterflie's shaft. And since it's a sealed unit i've heard from the guys on this board, that the TB needs changing.

Its got nothing to do with the throttle body or the shafts....

Your throttle cable that runs to the pedal is getting frayed inside and causing it to stick. A new cable is less than $30. and somewhat a no-brainer to install.

No, it is possible for the cable to work properly and still have the problem. I ran into the SAME problems a few weeks on on my POS 58mm Accell TB. You couldn't even turn the throttle body by hand. The butterflies had plenty of clearance also. After removing the TB and completely disassembling it, we found that the shaft had EXPANDED...We had to use a wet belt sander to get the cylinder even again. Works great now.

i had a car that the trottle would stick in and it turned out to be a broken motor mount. the motor would torque up and yank on the cable
