I just finished my new motor and went to the dyno and my haltech dfi told me some wierd things. After some tuning I only ended up with 322 rwhp and 487ftlbs. Not bad tq numbers but the hp was lower than expected. now my question is concerning my injectors. i am running 30lb svo's and from 2900rpm to 4k I am at 85% dc then from 4k to 6k I am at 99% dc. That cant be right for the hp I am putting out. The motor is a 383, afr heads, super ram, ported edelbrock base, everything is portmatched, 58mm t/b, cam is an extreme energy with 224-230 dur at .050 and lift with 1.6 rocker is 535-544,at full advance I am running 38deg ot timing,and longtube headers. I am running a 9in with 35 spline axles and locker. Now i am not sure what else can cause my injectors to be at such high dc but my fp is at 44psi and 30lb should be good for close to 360 rwhp. Any help would be great right now. Oh ya and I wonder why my hp numbers are so low ?

At what rpm was your pk hp? I have a tpi 350 with a ported plenum,runners stock base 58mm t-body trick-flow g-2 heads and 230/230 .512 cam. I am using 30#injectors at 47 psi, I don't know the dc on them but it seems alittle rich so I am going to try dropping fuel pressure. I would try raising yours just to see if it improves. Too rich will also cause you to lose power.

 

Any TPI gurus have any ideas? I peaked hp at 5300rpm. please help if you can. I cant understand this,

 

this is the same motor im planning on building. what afr heads are you running? i was thinking of 195s.. and an ati procharger to top it off. good luck sorting it out keep us posted on hp figures

I'd bump the fp up to 50 psi and go from there.
