porting/honing runners... machining question

hey all,

i'm not an expert at this, but there just has to be an easier way. isn't there a tool or some sort of honing tool that would allow one to hone out/resurface a set of runners? the hours some of us spend with a dremel, die grinder,etc.. being able to have a hone on a flexible shaft so that u can clamp the runners down and just do a slow run through with a power drill or highspeed tool would be awesome. that would guarantee the runners are exactly ??mm the whole way through, completely smooth, eliminate pinch points, etc. any ideas guys?

yeah.. per what i have read here thats a pretty costly process and has to be done at an appropriately equipped shop. what i am lookin for is a tool that you or i could use in our garage... one or 2 passes and done sort of thing.

Not realistically, especially not with aluminum.

eh... guess it was nice to dream. i'm basically finished with my runners right now anyhow. i know aluminum is quite soft, i just didn't know if you could have a hone travel down it without it just allowing the shaft pressure to work it out the side or just mess the whole runner up.

Ran across a web site the other day, they had a kit about $90 enough to do both heads intake and exhaust. In this kit is something like a flap wheel (toilet brush looking thing) on a long rod, for the finish pass.

search under "standard abrasives" and summit use the quotes.
