i was wondering is the rating 230 hp is it at the flywheel or at the wheels.getting my car dyno in a couple of weeks after header/y-pipe installment..

 

I'm pretty sure thats at the fly, manufacturer power ratings usually are. The corvette L98's were slightly higher, since they got aluminum heads, and I think a slightly higher compression ratio.

 

Guy just made a thread about his dyno results with stock L98. he made 215whp at 4500. thats about where a good L98 should dyno. 210-220 whp

 

ohh d*mn i was hoping 260whp after i put the headers and stuff on guess i wont see that number lol

has anyone put a stock 88 350 tpi on a dyno and what was the numbers.the reason im asking the place on getting it dyno at is a mustang place really here the website fastlanemotorsports.us they charge 75bucks for 3 pulls.and when i left my car wouldn't start so i had to ask for a jump : ( made me feel like a loser damn starter lol

you'll get near that with a good tune, full length headers, good exhaust, and a aftermarket intake setup like miniram/hsr or possibly a big tube TPI setup and 1.6 rockers, pullies, free mods, etc. electric waterpump may help too

my buddy made about 250whp with his full bolt on TPI L98, but he didnt have electric water pump. I made 254 with a lean tune on my HSR setup. no electric water pump either but i had everything else. I think i could have easily seen 260whp with a better tune

 

well i bought summit headers i know u get what u pay for and should have save up but that would take awhile lol 7bucks an hr and part time at that lol hard times.also bought a headman y-pipe hope they fit good together..

and probably take my car to RPMs (local performances shop) and get it tune after i get the headers and stuff on.cause it is running alil rich cause of the 24lb mustang injectors which i didnt install came with the car...
