carb to complete Superram/calmap conversion, hard to tune?

Has anyone done this with the complete Accel system? Manifold, harness, ECU, and software. I have a carbed 383 that I want to switch to EFI, and I'm trying to explore my options. It's a mostly street/some strip application. I've done exactly the same thing with an Edelbrock Pro-flo system onto a carbed 350, and I want to try something similar, but not exactly the same. I've also thought about the stand-alone Miniram conversion, but I want to keep the power below 6,000 rpm. Any other options? I have basically NO experience with factory EFI systems. How difficult is this Accel system to tune? Any advice/experiences would be appreciated!!!

Very very dificult to tune (unless you know what you are doing) If you know what you are doing this is the only way to go but it is expensive, very complicated and you can easily mess things up if you don't know what you are doing. Just think wisley this is a badass setup but it will do you no good if you can't tune it and it will leave a big hole in your wallet! I know I backed out of a deal for this setup at the last minute.

That's what I was afraid of. So what are the other options for a complete system? Has anyone tried the new Holley Commander 950 MPFI system? That one sounds a little easier to tune, kind of in the middle of the Superram and Pro-Flo systems. There's a bunch of different base maps to start with, and you can tweek it from there. At $2500 it's right in the middle on price too. I don't think the GM TPI would do me much good on a 383, or am I wrong?

Oh, come on, it's not that bad. Sure you could screw things up, but isn't that the way most mods are. I have the Accel system and love it. It takes a while to get the system right, but if you take small steps, it's not a problem. Besides, with the new DFI/ECM forum, you can't go wrong.
