oil passages in intake manifold?? why is there oil here?

are there any oil passages in a 88 5.7L TPI intake manifold? cause right
next to the thermostat housing (to the right of it facing the front of the
car), where the intake manifold meets the heads, there is oil there, like
barley seeping out, and if i get something to absorb the oil, and it comes
right back, but yet its not really flowing. its just sitting there. and
there is also a tiny bit of oil on the therm. housing just sitting there.
at least it looks like oil. im not loosing any oil whenver i check it. i
can go 3000 miles without having to add a drop. any clues wut it is and
why its there? i'll try to take a picture tomorrow.

There's no oil passages in the intake manifold, but the front and back of the manifold do seal to the lifter valley, which fills with oil under high rpms. But I have a hard time seeing how you could end up with oil on the manifold from that. Usually you see it running down the front or back of the block if the manifold is leaking.

Sounds like the intake bolts (which are exposed to oil) may no longer be sealed, allowing oil to "wick" up the bolts.

Same thing happens to my 88 GTA. Like GM Tech said, it creeps up the intake bolts. You can stop this by spraying or dipping the bolts in liquid teflon. You can find the stuff in the pluming section of Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, etc.
