Oil perssure dropping and engine knocking

I just got my '92 RS about 3 weeks ago and replaced the front and rear suspension and stripped out the proportioning valve in the process of assembly. Any way, I got that fixed and replaced the 195 thermostat with a 160 and now the knock sensor reading is setting the S.E.S. light. Could this be from lower engine temps or what? I haven't done anything to the engine since I got it(except the thermostat), but it has been losing oil pressure when it gets warm. It is the speed density L98 and has the oil cooler on it. How does that work? And does anyone think it could be the problem to low oil pressure? If anyone can help me, post a message or e-mail me at madaboutmx@aol.com, thanks!

Well, the oil pressure will drop a little when the engine gets warm because the viscosity goes down as the oil gets hot. The oil cooler doesn't actually run oil anywhere, it just takes cooler coolant from the heater system, and runs it through an adapter thats between the oil filter and block.
