is this mod a noticable one i'd just ordered a slp cold air kit for my 86 305 tpi

 

no i dont think it was very noticable. i did it on mine (along time ago) more worries about something flying through and takin out the heated wire too. i am sure others will say the same. maybe if you were in need of more flow.

i did it because i picked up one in a junkyard for free, and i keep the original in the trunk/hatch, i didnt notice any real differnce, but i figured why not,ill give it a shot,i only removed the screens, maybe u will notice more of a difference with other mods like heads cam headers exhaust etc. if u have either an extra MAF or some extra cash id do it but otherwise its not worth the worry of it breakin..
