Cold start injector for alcohol???
Cold start injector for alcohol???
Hey, I know alcohol and water injection are usually for super or turbo motors, but the principle is to cool the intake charge. Has anyone thought about rigging the cold start injector on some tpi motors to run alcohol. If you live in a warm climate and don't need the extra fuel to start it up can anyone think of a reason not to shoot some isopropyl in there???
Yes!! I thought of that too, as I was diassembling my TPI intake. Doesn't seem like the plumbing would be that difficult, but you'd have to figure out a way of modulating the solenoid based on load.. Actually, I wonder if you could use the ECM's fuel injector signal for that?

Seems to me, you could tap into the injector harness, and just use the pulse the computer is putting out for the fuel injectors....
Not sure how volume would match up though, maybe getting an injector with an appropriate flow rate to match the ratios......
Whattaya think?
