See if this sounds good for high 12's...

Will you guys check out this potential combo and make some suggestions? I want to do this as "budget" as possible with the LTR setup:

Trick Flow 23* heads
Roller rockers
zz4 or LT4 HOT cam
GM timing set
SLP 1 3/4" headers
Dynomax cat-back
Homemade cold air induction
Vigilante 2500 stall
SLP runners
Edelbrock base
Accel 23#
AFPR

I have the BW 3.23 rear and stock tires. What, if anything, should I change? Any thoughts on which cam to go with? Thanks guys.

Mods: Too busy trying to make it run right to mod it.
Airfoil, Dynomax cat-back, MSD coil, 180 t-stat, Bald Eagle tires,
Hypertech fan switch, Accel 23# injectors, Holley AFPR, ported plenum,
Ported Daytona Yellow stock base, Moroso valve covers, other stuff,
Ruger P95DC, hot wife, new oil filter, thick rubber floormats, no cats.
18.0 @ 85MPH since I'm one big-a$$ MF

Sounds like a good combo. You didn't say what short block your using- stock or zz4. Either way make sure rings etc are in good shape and be mindful of compression.
You may need to get a custom chip to take full advantage of the heads and cam.
Also some suspension mods and decent tires would be a good idea.
Don't forget the little things- gasket/port match everything (plenum, etc); ignition; cooling; so on

Best wishes
Matt

Thanks Matt. It'll be with the stock short block (42K on it), all cylinders presently between 185 and 192psi of compression the other day so I'd say the rings are OK. Which cam do you think is best for this setup?

I'm gettin' to the point where I'm starting to believe that the right driveline and suspension mods might get a stock L98 into the 13s(barely).

So I'll add my .013(canadian money ) -

SFC's, STB, stiff LCA's and TA, adjustable shocks and progressive springs, aluminum driveshaft, 3.55's or better in the pumpkin and high stall converter(thinkin' about a Yank TT2800 for myself).

As for cams, I've heard mixed reviews from the guys on the corvette board about the HOT CAM in a LTR L98. It's designed for higher rpm range of the LT1 and LT4 (or miniram). For L98 I'd look into the ZZ9 cam by TPIS.
