Can I use steel braide lines for transmission coolers?
I was just wondering if I can use some kind of flexible line for the transmission cooler lines. We cant get the lines routed with the engine in car, so I was wondering if some steel braided hose would work instead.
I would also like to know if anyone knows where to buy the hoses if I can use them.
Thanks,
Mike

You can use flexible rubber lines, you local parts store should stock it, but be aware that tranny fluid will decay the inside of ordinary rubber 'fuel' line, so make sure it is rated for transmission fluid use.
The pressure is fairly low out of the pump, usually less than 100 psi, so braided steel is not necessary, but looks nice.
You could also buy a cheap pipe bender, and fabricate your own steel lines.
Cheers
